Before moving into its relocated global headquarters operations, Nine West Group Inc. called on Hoffmann Architects to plan the full reconstruction of the 21,000-square-foot pedestrian plaza linking the two buildings, and redesign the two entry lobbies, which total 7,400 square feet. The firm also created and administered construction of a 90,000-square-foot roof replacement project at the two buildings. The plaza revitalization was undertaken to improve site safety, handicapped accessibility and building aesthetics. The firm's rehabilitation design included removal of the existing plaza; repair of the waterproofing over the garage area; installation of a new plaza of concrete pavers, planters, trees and other landscaping; and grading improvement. The lobby renovation improved the visual appeal of the building entries, using a pre-cast terrazzo tile to match the new exterior pavers.
