Built in 1977, this
four-level parking structure comprises prestressed concrete double-T's supported
by a column/girder system, with four poured-in-place concrete stair towers at
the four corners. Hoffmann Architects was called to address the increasingly
evident deterioration of the concrete and to recommend solutions to contain the
damage to the existing structural supporting system and provide future
protection to the parking decks. The rehabilitation design required removal and
replacement of the roofing system, traffic coating membrane, all spalled and
deteriorated concrete, joint sealant and deck drains. |
