Facade Rehabilitation Projects

Xerox Document University
Façade Investigation and Rehabilitation
Leesburg, VA

Designed by Vincent Kling Associates, Xerox Document University's 1.1-million-square-foot worldwide training center features six modules containing residential, classroom and administrative space. Hoffmann Architects directed the implementation of its five-year phased rehabilitation program for all exterior concrete building elements at the facility. The extensive rehabilitative work is based on the firm's investigation into the causes of widespread cracking of the concrete façade, which occurred over the past two decades. Hoffmann Architects researched various repair technologies to determine which would best restore the integrity and appearance of the concrete. The project included a pilot test site for a new concrete repair technology.
