Roof Rehabilitation
Hoffmann Architects provides assessment and rehabilitative design services for existing roofing systems, including the repair or replacement of roofing systems and components, including decks, membranes, insulation, drainage systems, flashing, parapets, and copings.

A typical roof rehabilitation project begins with an investigative analysis to determine the underlying causes of deterioration or water infiltration. The firm's professional architects and engineers conduct site studies, coordinate the administration of test probes and roof cuts for laboratory analysis, including environmental testing for asbestos and lead, and evaluate the structural integrity of an existing roof system and associated flashing, parapets, and copings. A comprehensive rehabilitation program is then developed based on the investigative results, technical and code requirements, owner goals, occupancy needs during construction, building life expectancy, and other issues.

Hoffmann Architects has designed the rehabilitation of many different roof types, using the latest, proven technology to create a watertight roofing solution. The firm is technically expert in the use of built-up roofing, modified bitumen roofing, and single-ply roofing, including elastomeric, thermoplastic, and rubberized asphalt membranes. Hoffmann Architects also has extensive experience in metal roofing, and in the restoration of older, traditional roofing materials, including copper, slate, and clay tile roofs.
