![]() Addressing the inevitable deterioration problems in unique, landmark, and historic structures requires an in-depth understanding of the properties of the original building materials, design intent, and construction techniques, and of the new technologies available that will help preserve the building without sacrificing its historic character. Hoffmann Architects has restored numerous landmark and historic structures, including some of our country's most renowned buildings, such as the Chrysler Building and the United States Capitol. The firm's diverse experience includes the rehabilitation of traditional copper, caly tile, and slate roofs, the intricately detailed limestone and marble facades that grace buildings on the National Historic Register, as well as the facades, roofs, and structural systems of the country's pioneering skyscrapers of the 1920s and 30s. Attentiveness to detail and knowledge of traditional building techniques and materials have enabled the firm to design the faithful restoration of domes, cupolas, steeples, sundials, sculptures, and building ornamentation. Hoffmann Architects' professional architects and engineers are well versed in working with and meeting the stringent requirements of state and national historic preservation agencies as part of a historic restoration project.
